MUSIC THERAPY

We have access to a wonderful group of performers/therapists who specialize in providing high quality music therapy within a memory support/dementia care environment. We use visual cues and hand held instruments to further enhance the experience for this particular group of residents. We believe the right person for music therapy is crucial and often regular sessions with the same musician/therapist helps create a lasting bond and level of trust between the resident group and the performer.

 

Families have shared wonderful stories of residents coming out of their shell and having moments of renewed energy and memory after our sessions and we believe a good memory support music program is a wonderful way for your residents to unleash their creativity and socialize within their community.

 

We can provide your facility with hand percussion and shakers for your residents to tap along to the songs. Many residents in a dementia care setting can feel frustrated when they are unable to sing along to songs, and so hand percussion is a great way to keep those residents involved in the session.
