The Joys Of Playing An Instrument for Aged Care Residents

Aged Care activities are important for residents to feel valued and productive. Lots of musical activities offered currently are passive experiences which mean a resident can sit back, relax and enjoy the content being shown to them. We all love to watch a musical movie or enjoy a performer/show!
These activities are great occasionally but can also allow residents to disengage with the medium and not attempt to actively partake in their surroundings.
Instruments are a great connective tool to help residents engage with some of these passive experiences and make them interactive in the process.!
We pride ourselves on delivering an experience through our music therapy sessions that cater to instrument use and rhythm as well as singing and movement.
For your next activity why not try handing a resident a shaker, another a tambourine and another a floor drum and show each resident how to copy and interact with our stream.
This can change a digital concert into an interactive experience and break the technological wall between us and the resident in the process.
If you would like to know more about instruments to buy, you can visit our aged care resources channel here and subscribe for more content:
We hope to keep residents engaged throughout 2022 with our wonderful physical and digital programs.
Kind regards,
Andrew
